Cobra Radar Detector Covers All Your Needs

by Jeff Holmes

Ever since the development of radar detectors in the 1970s, drivers have been constantly using them to watch out for police radar. The Cobra radar detector is undeniably one of the best in the market. Let’s talk about the features you should look for in a detector and why the Cobra radar detector is one of the most preferred. When choosing detectors, remember the word RADAR, which stands for Range, Alertness, Different tones, Added features and Reliability.

First, always consider the sensitivity of a detector. The more sensitive your detector is, the more time you will have to slow down and avoid tickets. However, the effectiveness of a product depends on your environment. If you’re frequently driving through hills for instance, the detector may not be able to detect police radar atop a hill. You may want to discuss Cobra radar detector models, as there are many of them and therefore an opportunity to find one with the best range.

Second, consider false alert filtering, since other frequencies mimic those of police radar, emissions from security systems and automatic doors. Find detectors that have City mode, as this lowers the sensitivity of the detector and therefore reduces the number of false alerts. All Cobra radar detector models have the ability to deal with false readings.

The Cobra 6 BandTM Radar and Laser Detector has a City/Highway Switch that enables you to select frequency levels and so is great if you live in densely populated areas. The best part is, this model isn’t as expensive compared to other detectors that have similar features.

Third, find a detector that has multiple voice alerts and tones for each type of alert. Detectors with these features make it easier to recognize the band of alert, eliminating the hassle of having to view the detector’s display. The Cobra 12 Band Radar and Laser Detector offers you the best of both worlds. It has Voice Alert, which gives you specific voice annunciation as well as DigiView Data Display, which provides you with very easy-to-read digital text display.

Fourth thing to look for is added features and reliability. Added features and reliability are a bonus. A number of Cobra radar detector models are readily equipped with extra features like a digital compass and so are a good deal. You won’t need to purchase an extra compass if you occasionally have holiday trips for instance. Cobra also offers systems like the 12 Band radar and laser detection system that is able to inform you about emergency vehicles coming your way.

Evidently, the availability of all these Cobra radar detector models gives you a wide array of options depending on what you prefer and need. You just need to add a few more payments to obtain more advanced models, so you definitely get your money’s worth. The cheaper costs and wider options are what make Cobra radar detector products some of the top items in the market.

When searching for the most suitable Cobra radar detector, think about the size, appearance, weight as well as the features and pricing. Because Cobra has up to 5 models available, it’s easy to decide on the most suitable product for you. Bargain radar detectors are also available, but they might sacrifice quality for their affordability. Search only the best quality for better reliability.

For Single Women Only: Receive The Gift Of Love This Holiday

Tuesday 25 December 2007 @ 4:25 am
by Margrit Harris

There is love waiting for you. Sure, it’s a little different than you might expect, but a whole lot more than you ever imagined.

No it’s not the usual, “Give to get” “It’s better to give than receive” rubbish.

After all, how many times have you heard a stale phrase like that? How many times did you want to wring the neck of the one who tactlessly threw it at you as you face yet another empty holiday?

There are between 20 and 40 women signing up for their dating services each week says Brandy at Singles Station[1] in Tulsa Oklahoma. According to the 2003 Government Census data[2] there are 24,152,000 women without a companion in the age range of 20 - 44. Of course some of these are surely in live-in relationships. However, even if that accounts for half, that would still leave 12 million women. That’s a lot of need for love!

Not too long ago in a resort hotel I stopped by the business center. Two women in different booths were perusing personal ads and responding to them. Several hours later when I came by again, the same two women were still glued to their computer screens. Millions of women seek love in this two dimensional manner every day!

It doesn’t have to be like this! It really doesn’t.

No strings attached love and loyalty can be yours in a very real way. Okay, it doesn’t come with sex, but peace of mind and a full heart are definitely included when you allow a furry companion into your life.

Petfinder.com[3] the country’s largest list of adoptable animals has 264,060 pets looking for homes. Cats, dogs, and exotic large and small critters are waiting to give love.

A pet can truly fill an empty heart. During a rather difficult time in my life I was blessed to find a mere bag of bones and fur with a very loud meow. This tiny kitten filled a big hole in my heart as she became a faithful, playful and constant companion.

According to PAWS of Tulsa[4] 12,744 pets have been destroyed this year because they couldn’t find homes. In 2004 this shelter took in 15,015 dogs and cats and the majority (13,735) were euthanized. Now if we multiply that by all the cities across the nation - - That is horrific! This means we fail the animals brought to our shelters.

Here is the picture: There are 12 million women in need of companionship and 264,060 pets needing to give their love away. Come on ladies, you better hurry to pick yours and get ready to receive the gift of love in a different, yet satisfying way this holiday season.

Should You Own A Persian Cat?

Tuesday 25 December 2007 @ 4:04 am
by Paulina Jenkins

The Persian cat is among the most beautiful of the world’s cat breeds. It is also generally thought to be one of the oldest breeds. It probably originated in the Iranian plateau, which is the large area of land between the Mesopotamia and the Hindu Kush mountains. In Europe, this area was called Persia, and thus cats from that area were named after it. Owning a Persian cat has been said to be like owning a work of art - they’re beautiful, but they also require special care.

The Persian cat has a flowing thick coat of long hairs. You can find Persians in almost any color. The color can be solid with pointed, tortoiseshell, blue, and tabby markings. It has a short neck and a massive round head. They have big round expressive eyes that are wide-set. The ears are rounded and small and the nose is broad and short.

Persian cats have bodies that are short and broad with short bushy tails. Their legs are thick and short and their feet are round and sturdy. A Persian is medium sized and weighs between eight and fifteen pounds. These cats can have a lifespan of 15 to 20 years if well look after. They have a beautiful and melodious voice.

Persians tend to be adaptable pets, meaning that they will get around with more households. However, being short-legged, Persians cannot jump high, and are not an active breed. While they will interact with their household in a friendly way, all Persian cats have their own personalities. This means that some will seem to be aloof, and will prefer a quiet home. Others will relish any kind of attention from humans.

To keep a Persian cat in good health you have to take preventive and consistent care. Persians have certain common health weaknesses. Some of these are cherry eye, tear duct overflow, seborrhea oleosa, polycystic kidney disease, entropion, dental malocclusions and nostril constriction.

The Persian is an intelligent, friendly and interactive cat. However, there is a lot of work involved to maintain your pet properly. As Persians can suffer from tear staining you need to wash their faces everyday. Their teeth need brushing, and their coats need to be brushed daily. Persians have such long hair and become tangled easily; therefore, daily brushing is important. When the cat sheds more hair during shedding months you have to give your pet more brushing.

Persian cats should have regular vaccinations. This means keeping their rabies and other shots up to date. Make sure to take your feline in for regular check ups to keep your pet happy and healthy. Remember that some plants are toxic to cats, including many house plants. Consult your vet for plants you should keep your Persian away from. Look for commercial cat foods that contain a high quantity of protein, and avoid those that contain a large number of grains or fillers.

You can choose to have your Persian groomed regularly by a professional. If you choose to do the grooming yourself, make sure you have the right tools. Grooming supplies can be obtained from all pet stores. These should include towels, mild shampoo, a good pet brush, nail clipper and eye ointment.

Those who are looking for a laid back, affectionate cat may wish to investigate owning a Persian. These cats are a good choice if you are looking for a pet that is friendly and not too active. However, if you are not willing to commit to the amount of care needed by these cats, including regular grooming, you should try a breed that needs less maintenance.

Hot Dog! It’s Time For A Kennel Shade Cover

Monday 24 December 2007 @ 2:40 am
by Shea Gyngell

In summertime, the living is easy. At least, it is for those of us relaxing in air-conditioned comfort. For all of those dogs suffering in kennels without adequate shade, however, life in the summertime is anything but easy.

As a pet owner, you are morally and legally obligate to provide the very best care for your dog. This high quality of life includes time spent inside, and outside, the home. If you have a dog that spends time in an outdoor kennel, you must provide adequate shade from the hot summer sun with a kennel cover.

Fortunately, finding and installing a dog kennel shade cover is a simple process. It doesn’t need to be expensive, either. Even the most basic dog kennel shade cover will provide the degree of protection your pet needs at a price you can afford.

Every kennel on your property must have a shade cover. These shades not only protect your pets and help to keep them cool in the hotter months, but they also provide shelter when the weather turns bad. Severe or extended periods of rain and snow can be very harmful to animals, so finding the right dog kennel shade cover is essential to ensuring your pet remains healthy, whatever the weather.

Don’t Cut Corners

Installing a shade cover can be as easy as throwing a tarp over the dog kennel. This is not, however, the best method of protecting your pet. A tarp can keep the sun out, but the material will not be able to withstand everything nature has to offer. Tarps will break down and tear over time, and will let in the driving snow and rain. They won’t deflect the sunlight, and may even increase the amount of heat within the kennel area.

Don’t settle for a plain tarp, with a proper dog kennel shade cover only costs a few dollars more. A proper shade cover will attach to the dog kennel at a slanted angle, so you can be sure than any rain, snow and melting ice will fall to the ground and no pool on top. Pooling water will cause the cover to collapse, and can harm your pet.

Keep a Tight Leash on Your Cover

Once you’ve installed the kennel shade cover, double-check that it’s properly installed and securely tightened before putting your pet in the kennel. If the cover blows off during high winds, your dog will be exposed to the elements and prone to injury from heavy rain, sleet or snow.

One Size Does Not Fit All

You can find dog kennel shade covers in a variety of sizes, and most can be added to any existing kennels already set up in your yard. Take accurate measurements of your kennel and purchase a cover that fits properly. Don’t go to the time and trouble of installing a cover that’s too large or too small. If you haven’t built a kennel yet, look for a complete setup that includes the cover in the kennel package. Otherwise, you’ll pay extra for the cover later on.

When the weather is for the dogs, your pet needs a place where he or she can be warm, comfortable and above all — safe. Spend the time and money installing a dog kennel shade cover. After all, it’s the least you can do for your best friend.
